Tony Moly I'm Real Sheet Masks: Tomato

November 03, 2017

I've recently become a fan of sheet masks, they don't feel so drying on my skin compared to other masks and I can't help but feel like I'm treating myself every time I pop one on. They act like a quick pick me up for my skin and leave my skin looking a bit brighter.

Recently I saw that one of my favourite daily deal websites had a Tony Moly sale going so I got in there quick and grabbed some of the Panda's Dream sticks that I love so much as well as a few sheet masks to try.

I'm a sucker for Tony Moly's cute, bright and fun packaging - I have the Cat Chu Wink lip tint which came in a clear bottle with a black lid topped with a cute cat head and also have a couple of their Petite Bunny Gloss Bars which come in a variety of flavours and feature a cute bunny on the tube lid - and each different flavour has a different bunny face!

Anyway, so I'm sitting here right now wearing the Tomato mask. The first thing I did when I opened it was smelling it, I was worried it might smell like tomato but surprisingly it doesn't! (This is good, because I have a broccoli one and I don't want to imagine smelling like a broccoli for a while)

After wearing the mask for 30 minutes and removing it, there was still a lot of serum on my face, so I massaged this into my face and down to my neck as well. Once this was absorbed, my skin still felt quite tacky for around 15 minutes. I've found that from the Western sheet masks I've tried, they tend to leave my skin feeling oily rather than tacky. There was no dramatic difference in my skin besides feeling moisturised and having slightly brighter skin which is no different to me than my usual moisturiser.

Pros:
- doesn't actually smell like tomato. It has a sweet, fresh smell to it. It's almost citrus-like.
- the mask itself is a decent size and covers my entire face
- while wearing the mask, it felt cooling and soothing, I can imagine this would feel amazing after a day out in the sun!
- they're actually pretty cheap - I bought a 4-pack for $11
- does not contain talc, benzophenone, triethanolamin, colour additives, or parabens!

Cons:
- I found it to be a bit wet, there is pleeenty of serum on the sheet mask so it ended up dripping from my chin onto my clothing.
- Tony Moly do test on animals and is not a cruelty free brand
